Waxing Questions

What wax do you use?

I use Perron Rigot, a renowned French wax, that uses only the finest ingredients. It literally shrink wraps the hair without attaching to the skin so that the hair is removed easily leaving the skin undamaged.

Does it hurt?

When pulling hair from the root, there is going to be some discomfort! But it really is only for a couple of seconds. And well worth it at the end when your skin is smooth and soft. Anyway, you’re in safe hands with me, I'm an experienced waxer and very quick.

Who can be waxed?

Almost everyone can be waxed although you must tell me of any skin thinning drugs you are taking such as Retin-A or acne creams or if you have had a facial peel, have diabetes or varicose veins as we will need to take extra precautions. I don't wax over moles, rashes or broken skin.

How long does the hair need to be?

About 3-4 weeks growth after your last removal is perfect although shorter hairs can be removed too. Hair is best at about half an inch. I can wax hair that is longer, its just less painful when shorter.

How long does it last?

Everyone’s hair growth rate is different but you can expect a minimal return in the first 3 weeks. The more often you wax, the softer and slower the regrowth becomes.

What do I need to do afterwards?

It is mainly common sense as to how sensitive your skin is. It is best to avoid heat such as the sun, hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and sunbeds for 24 hours. Also swimming pools and perfumed creams could irritate. After a few days you can exfoliate gently to remove dry skin and keep skin soft.

Intimate Waxing.

I understand that it is important for you to feel comfortable when having such a personal area waxed. I am extremely professional and don’t beat about the bush, so to speak! I am very quick and you’ll be in and out before you know it.

Why have intimate waxing?

Many people of all ages opt for this style of waxing for reasons such as wearing a tiny bikini, to feeling cleaner to improving their love life!

What is the difference between waxes?

A Bikini wax removes the hair that would be showing if you wore a normal bikini.

A G-String or high bikini would remove the hair showing if you wore a thong.

A Brazilian removes everything from the sides and underneath, leaving a thin ‘landing strip’ on top.

A Parisian or a Bermuda is the same as a Brazilian except leaves a small triangle on top.

A Hollywood leaves no hair on top, under, behind, anywhere. Nothing!

What is the procedure?

It is best to have a shower before coming although I have wipes available to freshen up if you wish. It is also best to leave your modesty at the door with intimate waxing as it is easier all round to remove underwear completely. Having done hundreds of them, i'm not embarrassed and I don’t want you to be. However, disposable thongs are available if you wish. I'll ask you to move your legs and stretch your skin as needed to help make the waxing as quick and easy as possible and there will be soothing oils and lotions for you to apply after to cool any sensitised skin.

Please note: It is normal for skin to be a bit red and blotchy after waxing or slightly bumpy and even pinprick blood spots if it is your first wax or have particularly thick hair.
